It’s been described as “the most sophisticated open-top car ever created by Bentley”, and we agree completely.
We’re talking about the Bentley Grand Convertible concept, which was unveiled by the British automaker just before the Los Angeles Motor Show. It is a classy ride, that much is certain, and even though it looks completely ready for production, it is still nothing more than a concept at this time.
This Bentley convertible borrowed the same 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that animates the Mulsanne Speed, and so it boasts the same power output of 811 lb ft and 530 horsepower. On the outside, the vehicle impresses with a Sequin Blue paintjob complemented by a burl walnut veneer on the tonneau cover, while the inside features Beluga leather with blue cross-stitching.
The wood cover that we mentioned before is the largest piece of wood veneer ever installed on a Bentley, and that says a lot. For an extra touch of elegance, the interior also features 14 leather hides that are stitched together using sequin-colored thread.
